Established in 2012, the organization's primary mission is to foster a love of learning in each student. Our curriculum skillfully weaves artistic and practical disciplines into everyday academics. Students learn to follow their curiosity, to think creatively, and work both independently and cooperatively with others.

About the Founder and Executive Director: Valerie Hamilton
Ms. Hamilton has a great respect for the value of learning, which extends beyond just books; she is motivated to see young people succeed. An educator and life-long student, she views teaching as critical for helping students accomplish their goals. Her own life experiences inspire her to coach and encourage even the most underachieving students to believe in themselves and their ability to learn. Ms. Hamilton’s studies and employment have enabled her to teach, motivate and encourage people of all ages in Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Hong Kong and China. Her travels abroad shaped her world view and philosophy of education. Ms. Hamilton earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Devry University and later received her Master’s degree in Education from Cairn University formerly Philadelphia Biblical University. She received her Pennsylvania Director's Credential and Educational Leadership Master's Certificate from Arcadia University. Ms. Hamilton has already set her sights on achieving a doctoral degree in Education.
Keystone STARS is an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) to improve, support, and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs in Pennsylvania.
The Keystone STARS Performance Standards provide the foundation for the program. The Performance Standards are grouped into four levels:
STAR 1, STAR 2, STAR 3, and STAR 4.
